MAM1012F - Mathematics 1012

Entry Requirements:

Pass in MAM1010F/S/J or MAM1110F or equivalent. Students who have passed MAM1005H while being registered in another Faculty can be admitted to MAM1012F at the discretion of the Head of the Department. Such students will be granted exemption from the FACULTIES AND DEPARTMENTS OFFERING COURSES TO THE FACULTY OF COMMERCE 213 full first-year Mathematics requirement of the Commerce Faculty if and only if they pass MAM1012F.

Course Outline:

The aim of this course is to continue the study of topics in mathematics that are of interest to Commerce students begun in MAM1010. Integral calculus, including numerical integration, introduction to ordinary differential equations, matrices and elementary linear algebra, Markov Systems, Taylor Maclaurin, and Binomial series, functions of several variables, three-dimensional space, partial derivatives and applications to optimization problems, the Simplex Method.
